curled up with a good book by Wolfsjal curled up with a good book by Wolfsjal
Very late b-day drawing for Nash. Sorry for the quality; between my bird trying to eat my paper and pencil crayons, to my perma art block being a jerk, to my scanner and editing software being beyond me all of a sudden... well, it wasn't what I wanted it to be. But it's still cute, I think.
Hope I got the markings close, Nash. :3 <3

Hey I have a question for you. If you want to post a recreation of an artist character that you made, do you have to ask the artist before you post it?

Er, I'm not sure what you mean.  Are you asking if you need permission to draw another person's character?

Yes, for the most part. The majority of my work is pencil crayon/ colour pencils, or just graphite, or occasionally charcoal or chalk pastels.

someone gave me chalk pastels and i love to work with them but i am using them on my own way. Is their a basic or something how i need to use it? Cause my hands
are always dirty. (not like i care if my hands are dirty but my mum is annoying character does. l3

Yeah, chalk pastels can get messy. Part of the fun!
I find the easiest way to work with them is to start layering your colours with the lightest colours first, and then work into your darker ones. So say you had some yellows, oranges, browns and blacks to lay down, then you would put them down in that order. Because it won't matter if you smudge a bit of yellow into the orange. However if you start with your browns and blacks, you will then have to wash your hands between each colour if you're planning to smudge or blend any of them together. Otherwise you'll just end up with a messy, muddy looking picture.
But yes, there's no getting around the fact that your fingers are going to get covered in chalk pastels. I just try not to touch anything else until I go wash up, and might have to stop to wash my hands a few times while working on a piece.
